Patterned Papers - Go Bold!
Patterned pockets - go bold with your invites!
Let's talk a bit today about using patterned papers in your wedding invitations. Most people think of using white or ivory and maybe a few accent colors.
Friends, there are so many other colors you can use that are a bit outside of the box. I have an entire swatch deck from florals to geometric prints that you can use for everything from pockets to layers behind an invite to envelope liners.
Go Nautical
I love this nautical pocket wedding invitation- it's perfect for a wedding that is on the beach or on a yacht.
It uses a navy card stock that has a light champagne gold knot pattern. What I love about it though is that once you open your invite up, it's far less overwhelming than you think will be.
You have a great pattern on the outside, but the inside is solid navy and you have just a punch of the pattern on the pocket.
Then you add in a fun anchor accent and some modern fonts and you have a really great cohesive design.
timeless florals
This design is brand new in the store this week - Elegant wedding invitation.
Your guests will love to see the pop of floral paper as it comes out of your envelope. This is from the Trellis line of paper - soft, hand painted magnolia flowers and they are amazing. I have a few different papers in this design - white or ivory, charcoal flowers or bright pink with green leaves.
Again, like the last design we talked about, the inside of the pocket is sophisticated, shimmery white. It's clean and classic with just a hing of the flower pattern. The black layer there accents the design beautifully. Pull out those insert cards and you'll see a trail of flowers on the insert card that match!
Close it up with a custom floral wax seal for a really elegant touch!
pocket cards - classic but tidy
I also really love a good floral pocket card. Check out the Floral Wedding InvitationParisa and Steven set below!
What I really love about these pockets too is that it can give you the gorgeous floral pocket, but it isn't too much. It's more subtle. This design looks like a traditional flat wedding invitation. The pink paper here has a great hydrangea, vintage pattern.
We can scale the size of the invite so that you see more or less of that pattern - as much as you love!
Then flip it over and you have your organization - a pocket to keep all of your pieces organized. A pretty pocket at that! The floral pattern shines through here for a lovely, elegant touch!
This pattern also comes in ivory with champagne/taupe flowers and it's one of my favorites to use!
Customize it!
So you've been searching everywhere, and you can't find the floral envelope liner that's perfect.
Let's make a custom liner for you! I have graphics galore and I can create custom patterns just for your wedding - maybe one that includes your monogram, or a location that is meaningful to you, or a flower that you love.
We made this custom envelope liner for Danielle and Elijah to show off the beautiful flowers in their wedding.
We aren't quite done yet, but we're going to cap it off with a custom wax seal with a flower on it to close up their vellum envelopes!
